Web 2.0 Tools for Classrooms

Web 2.0 tools are online, interactive tools that can be used on any computer.  Generally these are free, although there may be a charge for additional functionality.  A few of the tools listed are not Web 2.0 because they require a download, but they are listed here until we have a more suitable location on our website for them.

  • Voki - customizable avatar that can be easily embedded into a website, blog, or wiki.

Backchannels

  • Backchan.nl - allows your audience to post questions and other audience members to vote on the questions they like.
  • ClassTalk - use 160 characters to ask questions.
  • Edmodo - Facebook format that allows the audience to interact with each other and the teacher.
